The National Exchange Club, founded in 1911, is an all-volunteer, national service organization comprised of 32,000 members. In 1979, it adopted "Prevention of Child Abuse" as its national project and established the National Exchange Club Foundation for the Prevention of Child Abuse.

Today, nearly 1,000 Exchange Clubs are actively involved in child abuse prevention programs. Over 100 Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Centers exist throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, coordinated through the National Foundation. More than 100,000 families and 140,000 children have benefited from services provided by these Centers.
